Two ways to play, one app.

Your club can run a ladder, a Long Americano, or both. Here is how each one works, with a walkthrough and the rules.

The Ladder Long Americano

Format one

The Ladder

Teams of two. Climb by beating the teams above you. A ladder has no end date, so there is always a next match.

The rules, in a minute

  • Every team has a spot. Teams start ranked from highest rating to lowest, and your spot moves as you win.
  • Challenge up. Pick any team up to 3 spots above you.
  • 48 hours to answer. They accept or decline in the app.
  • 7 days to play. The clock starts when they accept.
  • Log it. One team enters the score and the other confirms it.
  • Win and take their spot. The team you beat drops down, and any teams in between each move down one. Lose and nothing moves. Your organiser can switch this to a straight swap, or to "winner moves up one spot".
  • Keep it fair. One live match per team, and no instant rematch.

Format two

Long Americano

A new partner every week. Points decide the winner. Good for a group of friends who swap partners and want it run fairly.

The rules, in a minute

  • 3for a win
  • 1if it ends one set each
  • 0for a loss
  • +3max upset bonus
  • Fresh partners. Each week Zastria draws the pairs and the matches. It avoids repeat partners and keeps games close by rating.
  • Find a time. Players add when they are free and the app shows the times that overlap.
  • Scores in by Sunday 10pm. A match with no score is voided and nobody gets points.
  • Upset bonus. Beat a higher-rated pair and you earn extra points, up to 3.
  • The winner. Most points wins. A tie goes to whoever played more matches.
